GERI Halliwell has landed a steamy £1million film role.

She will play a girl about town who has an affair with her therapist.

It will be her first film since starring with her former Spice Girl
pals
in Spiceworld: The Movie three years ago.

Therapy, a £7million British film set in London, will be directed by
David
Green. He worked on Buster - the Great Train Robbery movie starring
Phil
Collins.

Shooting will start in a few months and the film will be released next
year. One source said: "Geri is very excited."

The 27-year-old - who had therapy herself to beat stress and bulimia -
is
due to announce the role at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

She has been in Los Angeles for two months working on her second album.
Her first, Schizophonic, spawned three Number One hits.

A spokeswoman said: "The deal has been signed, sealed and delivered,
and
100% financed. "It's been made by a really solid, young developing
company, and by an established director."

Halliwell would be involved in the "creative process" herself, she
said,
adding that she could not say at this stage on exactly what form that
would take.
